Dr. Bruce Hiebert teaches Philosophy 1151 at Meritus University.
He received his B.A. University of Manitoba in Sociology with a Psychology minor (1980), followed by his Masters of theological studies in Christian theology from the Vancouver School of Theology (1985) and a Masters of Divinity at Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Indiana (1989). He earned his Ph.D. by Special Arrangements at Simon Fraser University (2008).
Dr. Hiebert’s professional career has included a one-year term as a church minister as well as roles in the corporate world, including executive director with a private educational agency. He currently works as a CeveySystem certified management advisor.
Dr. Hiebert is also the author of two books, Good Work (1996) and Your Soul at Work: How to live your values in the workplace (2005) both published by Northstone Press. He continues to do research in the areas of gender, religion, and theoretical ethics and regularly present papers on these at academic conferences.
Of his teaching at Meritus, he says, “I think that on-line is an excellent mode of educational program delivery, especially for advanced courses or with mature students.”
Dr. Hiebert is based in Abbotsford, British Columbia (50 km east of Vancouver).
